Method
Déanta leis an ghrian, an ghaoth agus an fharraige amháin.
We rely on the natural elements to craft our sea salt, a process led by the passing seasons.
We pay our respects to the age old tradition of sea salt making through solar evaporation, building on this to accommodate the West Kerry climate.
The elements drive our low-carbon, natural crystallisation process, gently evaporating the seawater in custom designed evaporation tunnels, leaving behind a mineral-rich & distinct tasting sea salt.
Solar-powered sea salt
-
Sea water collection
When the ocean rests, we carefully collect the cold clear Atlantic waters surrounding the Dingle Peninsula, filtering at source to ensure our single locally-sourced ingredient is clean & fresh.
-
Solar evaporation
The pure seawater is transferred to our custom-designed evaporation tunnels, which harness the heat from the sun and formidable local wind to slowly evaporate the seawater.
-
Harvesting & drying
Each batch takes anywhere from days to weeks to evaporate depending on the season.
Once evaporation is complete, we carefully hand-gather the pure sea salt crystals, before they undergo final drying.
-
Hand finishing
Each & every jar is unique, carefully hand packaged, heat branded & finished. This way we, and you, can be assured of the very highest quality.
